This is where owners of taf can talk everything about taf from there modifications to faults
Quoted from Eskaybee:As a taf wish lister, how long have you guys owned your taf?
I got mine in December.....had one years ago (was a junker) and traded it off for a POTC when that came out
Quoted from Brentslane:Just sold mine today... Guess I'm not in the club. It will be missed.

Get out NOW!!!
Ive had mine for a year. It was routed for twenty years and had alot of play on it. I think it earned somewhere near $30k. Ive modded it tastefully and is easily worth twice what i paid for it.

Just edited post thread so you are welcome now
I've had mine for a little over a year . . . wish I could find a repro/NOS playfield for it that didn't cost more than what I paid for the machine.

Just got one a week ago, spent the better part of this afternoon slotting in leds. Will be replacing a few of the plastics and the playfield as well if i can ever get a hold of one.
Quoted from chalkup8:Thanks!
Going to tour the UK in June for the first time.I wonder how many pins I will come across.
Go to the pipeline bar in London they have acdc premium, stern playboy, riplies believe it if not, corvette, World Cup SOCCOR and adams family and it is a specialised bar about pinball
And go to the pier arcade in Bournemouth they have a tron pro, xmen pro and batsman dark knight
You will come across a few
Quoted from chalkup8:these unexpectedly came with it,where do they go?
Does anyone know where to get one if these
Pipeline bar London? It's on my list,ta .Don't think I'll get to Bournemouth.Might get my first chance to acdc.
Picked up the decals from Judge-dreads-pinball via Ebay Gwynedd UK.

Quoted from zippydapinhead:Alright then, my name is Zippydapinhead and I own a TAF. Here are a couple files to share with the group.
Free to use and enjoy. Just don't start selling them on E-bay or whatever.
thank you. ca will restore a youthful look
TAF was my first pin. Still own it. Bought on Thanksgiving weekend 2006. Playfield has been restored and cleared and the whole game has been broken down into pieces for 4+ years. aRestoration came to a screeching halt when my daughter was born. Got a son due this June, so it's looking like it'll stay that a way a few more years. The anticipation of when I can play it again, fully restored, is really building!

Hey, I want to join the club! Here is a link to my recent shop job.

How people keep the ball in play a long time and put up monster scores on this game eludes me. I have a feeling that mastering this game must improve your overall playing skills.
This game totally gets in my head when I play it. Outlanes seem drain crazy. Damn thing just seems to drain alot period. Upper flipper jackpot shots always require some forethought.
Do you just need time on this game to get used to its gameplay? Or do I just need to play better?
The machine basically has three strategies.
1. Keep spelling GREED for Multiball.
2. Hit chair for mode start then hit blue ramp to relight chair. Repeat till Tour.
3. Play as intended and try and complete each mode as it comes up.
I usually do a combination of 2 and 3 and take multiball as it pops up.
If you can catch the ball on the left flipper you should be able to hit the chair and ramp with about 90% accuracy.
I am an owner. It was my first game, purchased in Dec 2011. It will never leave.
It is second in line currently for a full tear down and restoration. I have located a used but hopefully restorable playfield that I will touchup and get professionally clearcoated before doing the swap.
I have started looking for cab decals. Are there different qualities? Which company makes the best and what are the differences?
TIA
Quoted from centerflank:Im in to Eskay!!!!!! Thanks Hilton!!!!!
Ummmm, have you been drinking centerflake?
Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:Or do I just need to play better?
This...play better, I don't think it's a hard game personally, it was my first, and I hope to own it again someday. Not the greatest layout, but it has fun modes, and great art and the sound package is perfect...

Ha,the 3 million insert is pink - outrageous!
Quoted from Pinballgeek:Great to see this thread back
This tread won't die - it's the Addams Family!
Did a bunch of work on mine over the weekend. When I first picked this up it was a dirty mess, but it's cleaned up nicely over the last few weeks.
WIP so far:
LEDs
Touched up the paint on coin door, front and sides.
New skirt decals
replacing the rubbers as I find worn ones (any cheap black rotting rubber I've come across I pull right out)
ColorDMD
Fixed some minor mechanical issues
magnet fuses, replaced 3rd magnet which had likely been removed to prevent more burn
Bit of magnet burn on the pf. Doesn't affect gameplay, but it is sort of ugly to look at. Ultimately I'll swap it out once I come across one a bit more in my price range.

Looks awesome capn.
You need to remove the entire lockdown bar assemble and scrub the top clean.
Then you can get replacement decals that say high voltage, install 3 balls and inspected by from a couple of different vendors.
No one will ever see it but you, but I appreciate mine every time I take off the lock down bar.
I have my TAF next to my TZ as well. Also I used to own BOP.
Yours looks fantastic.

Thanks for the kind words, and yeah, I'd be lying if I said the balls / high voltage stickers hadn't crossed my mind yet...
It's got a ways to go, but we're getting there. Planning on touching up the PF mansion wear and replacing the stair ramps this weekend if time allows.

Sounds like fun. I love restoring machines.
My TZ is next in line for a complete shop.
I have done two other TZ's for others in the past, but have never had time to give mine a proper shop.

Yeah totally understand. Mine is my fav game in the collection by far, strangely enough it's the one I've put the least effort into (most of the hard work was already done by a fellow pinsider when I bought it).
Quoted from Williampinball:Hi everyone ,I just restored my TAF from top to bottom ,can't wait to play it again ,I missed it ,took me almost one year to restore it .
Post pics if you can!
Quoted from CapnARRR:Post pics if you can!
I agree.
Love to see a freshly done pin.
I've got a great example of one as well. My cat recently jumped on it and scratched the cabinet in a spot. Not too happy but easily fixable. I need to get one of those covers that are offered.
My playfield does have bad magnet burn so I am wanting to have some one restore it and clearcoat it for me. Who should I go to? And I am not about to do a tear down to that game and wait a couple months then try to piece it back together so it is going to need to be broken down.
