Hey everyone, I have been posting over on the TAF owners thread, but I need to get to the bottom of this. The Thing Flips and the Graveyard 5x stopped working so I diagnosed that the Opto switch right above the left upper flipper wasn't working. I replaced both the receiver and transmitter optos at the same time and still wasn't working. I looking at the transmitter with my camera and there is light shining, so I manually held both the transmitter and receiver in my hands to check.

To my surprise the optos are working fine when they are held very close to each other, like 1/4" and then any further apart they stop working? I am also wondering how perfectly aligned the Opto switches must be for exact responsiveness? What am I missing here?

I wish had a set lying around, and not so easy to get where I am located. If that is the best solution someone comes up with I will try it though.

That also seems like incredibly bad luck, my original optos go and then the ones I buy to replace aren't strong enough. I didn't think optos were that finicky?
