I just went to a local pizza place and they had a TAF for a quarter a play. Its heavily routed, one flipper doesn't work, and has a credit dot.
Um, tips on working on the guy to buy it? It needs pin love, and I could give it.
Tell him to sell it to you for 2k or you will report him to the Pin Abuse Hotline for being a crappy operator
Let the location know that the flipper does not work. Let the game stay on location so that the public can enjoy some pin love.
I told him about the flipper and he gave me my quarter back. I told him I'd really like to play it when it's working. He said he'd call to get it fixed, but somehow I doubt it'll get fixed. I'll stop in next week ad work on him some more. I think 2k might be too high. This machine really needs a new cab and playfield. I have no idea what the credit dot is for, so might be more to fix. In any case I'll know more next week. Wish me luck.

You would think so but its not, I started a similar thread when I first joined pin side, look through my history and check it out, even a crap TAF will still go in the low-mid 3k area

Doesn't sound like a likely scenario.
I went there for lunch today, and the flippers are fixed. There is still a credit dot so I'm not sure what's signalling what's broken. I played for a while and the bookcase opened, so that wasn't it. The more I looked at it, the more I thought, that this would be a good project machine, but it would take a LOT of time and money to make it what I would want it to be. I'm just going to enjoy it for a quarter every now and then
