I've got an issue that I'm stumped by. My lockup kickout, left magnet, and right magnet are failing to activate frequently. It seems like when they fail, they all fail at the same time.

I'm stumped, I can't anything in the circuit diagrams that relates to the kickout and those two magnets. Lockup is high power, magnets are low. None of them are powered by the same connector, let alone pin. Nothing else on the same pins/connectors is failing. Power driver board was rebuilt and I think is ok. MPU is only a year old. I figure there must be some IC chip that control the signals of at least these 3 components that is failing, and wonder if anyone has experienced anything similar and resolved it?

I flipped the ribbon connector between J211 and J113 upside down and the problems remained the same instead of moving to different solenoids, so it's not a ribbon connector issue either, I don't think.

I'll mention that I'm experiencing two other issues just in case they're related, but I don't think they are - sometimes the left upper flipper loses power and drops, and sometimes the GI relay clicks a lot.

Quoted from zaza:

Those have dataline D7 in common.

as well

yup, dataline D7
ASIC in socket connection intermittent

Incredible! Thanks ZAZA! I'll pop out the MPU and have a look at the asic and it's solder. Is that something I can figure out if I'm better at reading the circuit diagrams in the manual, or is that something that takes even more knowledge to figure out?

I reseated the ASIC and so far so good, fingers crossed it stays good. Thanks for the direction!

Naw. They started failing intermittently again. I replaced the asic with a different one and have the same results. My lower right flipper briefly lost power mid flip a couple times now too. The power board has new caps and BR within the last year, but maybe one of the new components is failing there. Grr.
