Met up with Ben (AkumaZeto) today. He is going to do my playfield swap for TAF (IPB Playfield) that Neo added clearcoat too. I am very excited to see how it turns out. Ben is a great guy. We meet up half way and Ben has already started prepping.

Old playfield had mansion wear, scoop wear, swamp wear covered with cliffy's.

TAF is one of my favorite games and I wanted a new playfield. I was going to do the swap myself but never got around to it. Ben and I talked and Ben agreed to do it for me.

New Playfield
New Clear Ramp
New Parts, etc.

Here is a pic of the mansion wear on the game.

I'm doing the exact same thing to mine, right now! I'm using an IPB that Kruzman graced with the thickest clear I've ever seen... and I have 3 other cleared games!

Good luck with yours!

Normally i would use this tool for port work on 2 strokes. Someone or some child should i say has ran off with my chuck for my drill. Drilling out all the holes to specified sizes.

What's the thicker clear good for?

That's my Baby.

I know you were referring to mrDo but I had Neo add clear to mine as I could feel some very slight edges on a few inserts on the IPB playfield I got. When I got it back from Neo I couldn't have been happier.

#14 11 years ago

That clear looks great, following.........

#15 11 years ago

Looks good, I am in the same process as well. Getting a nice TAF playfield touched up and clear coated. Then after I transfer everything over when I get it back, I am getting a new cabinet, new decals, etc... for TAF!!

Should look great once it is done!!

Didnt get real far before my nut driver froze. I dont do manual hand tools anymore for the most part. I have paid my dues with them....off to get a new seal for driver.

Back in my day we didn't have fancy air driven nut drivers, we used are bare knucles to drive in hex screws and we liked it!

i usually do everything by hand. I'm always afraid of stripping something out if I don't.

#20 11 years ago

#21 11 years ago

Whatcha doing with the old playfield?

#22 11 years ago

I play Marty's Firecracker that has wear in the middle of the playfield and love that game. I just want to eat off of this game.

That is it.......NO, IRON MAN FOR YOU!

#26 11 years ago

If you eat off of it, you'll get it all messed up again!

Be nice to me...someone will have to re-level that poor thing once it gets back home...

that is a common blowout area on TAF too. Lot of impact there.

Failing to see how your statment reflects the MORON who stripped the 1/4 hex and the phillips screws to hold the motor on.

#35 11 years ago

there's a motor there? Thats an odd spot for a motor. Suppose to be in the back by thing.

#36 11 years ago

Your reading comprehension is lacking neo lol

Never done one myself but i have tore down 3 of them to the bare on both sides at one time or another. Ramps a popping good times. I can see my JD single barrel being depleted on that one though.
