Quoted from NJGecko:OK...time to check out the new gold. What do we think...is it a big upgrade over what the machine had on it, or should I just keep the original legs?

I have a similar issue although my legs are not as "tarnished" I only put on the new ones in the front as you can't really see the back ones and left the other two highly polished ones packed away just in case.
I debated how much to make this a factory restore vs a bit of extra bling. I didn't want to go over the top, but I wanted a few extra touches.
I usually prefer plain black hinges, but I thought these might be nice...
And yes, I planned to get my phone into the picture so you can see the reflection.
Assembly is under way on the cabinet, but I wanted to post a few pictures of it "as delivered" so you can see the workmanship.

Ground braid needed to go in....but the playfield support brackets needed to be lined up first since the braid ties to them.
OK. I think this qualifies as THE most stressful part of the build for me. Drilling holes into a brand new cabinet. And if they are out of line or messed up, you really don't have many easy fixes. So measure twice (or ten times) and drill once!
Painters tape on both sides works well for me. I can mark the measurements on it easily and it also keeps things from ripping or splintering.
Ground braid is in. I hate all of the contortions I need to go to get myself in position to do this, but it's always worth it in the end. Brand new ground braid, to me, always looks amazing.
FYI, the right took for the right job..I use the long-nose unicatch stapler from pinrestore.

Quoted from lb1:Are you able to make a square hole for the step bolt or are you going with a round one?
step bolt?
Quoted from NJGecko:step bolt?
Carriage bolt with a square base right below the head but with a larger head. The square base prevents the bolt from turning when tightening the bolt, since you can't easily hang on to the head and prevent it from turning.
Oh, gotcha. I normally just put those into round holes. When the step hits the wood, it's drawn in and that prevents it from turning.
WOW, looks great. Maybe you posted this and I missed it but where did you get the cabinet from all done up?
Still plodding along slowly.
I need to focus on finishing one thing before starting another...so right now I'm back and forth between the PF and cabinet. But figured I might as well get everything done that requires the air tools so my family can stop listening to the compressor.
Cabinet got the new glass channels installed. And pop bumpers all done. Man, there are few things I hate more than driving studs into a PF. Nightmares flash before my eyes about cracks in the clear or missing and smacking the PF...I have a good technique for doing it, and I haven't screwed up yet, but still....
New side rails on. New lockdown receiver installed.
Time to do some "head games" and get everything swapped. It's funny, I'm having a bigger challenge than I originally thought. A lot of the normal stuff I would do I need to rethink since I can't cover or remove a the original serial number markings which I'm finding are everywhere.
Not the best picture in the world, but you can see how it's shaping up. I'm pretty much done with the cabinet for a little while. Little stuff like the wiring needs to go in, but that's not a big deal.
It's encouraging to see me starting to empty baggies that have been sitting around for a while!

Doug Huse makes new cabinets and can also apply decals before shipping the cab to you
