TAF - flipper turning on lamp row in matrix

Working out a few issues with my recently-purchased The Addams Family - this one is a puzzler though. Some of the time (not every flip) - the left flipper turns on the unlit lamps in row 5* to a not-quite-full dim. Is this an issue with the lamp driver or the flipper? Right flipper does not behave the same way. All of the lamps work as expected otherwise and don't affect play.

I've read some articles about TIP102 transistors being used to ground lamp rows - but not sure if that's a red herring.

Thank you for any advice.

Do the lamps work normally otherwise? Are you using normal bulbs, or LEDs?

The lamps do work normally otherwise - and they are normal bulbs - a mix of 555s and 44s, but all on row 5 in the matrix.

Test the diodes at the flipper yet?

Any lamp sockets or anything metal shorting to the two left flipper bases ?

This was it!!! I love "easy" fixes.

I lifted the playfield and inspected the flipper areas again. Couldn't find anything obvious, no lamp wires touching the flipper bases, etc. Played a game or two and noticed that the issue occurs only after the upper left flipper (Thing Flips) hits his EOS.

I lift the playfield again and look closer and around the flipper base, and notice a long metal rod wedged between the flipper base and the playfield, bridging the lower yellow pop bumper's lamp to the flipper base. Turns out that's the missing tilt rod the previous owner said the game never had
