Hi all,

On my TAF, the chair kick out direction/strength often changes gradually over time. Sometimes, I can catch the ball by simply keeping the left flipper up. In other cases, it is very difficult to catch it, and sometimes, he kicks it directly into the drain hole (this behavior changes slowly over time). Sometimes it helps to slightly manipulate the mechanism under the playfield, to change its behavior slightly, but it's very difficult to control.

Did anyone of you experience similar problems?
Any ideas or hints to avoid this?

Many thanks

Sometimes the kick out comes a bit loose so the entire thing rattles around while in operation, which can cause the ball to be deflected while exiting the scoop. Make sure it is aligned correctly at the left flipper and tighten down the mounting screws.
Also sometimes the weld cracks on the scoop assembly, or it gets bent. Check both to make sure it is straight and still welded. If the weld cracked you can look around for a welder to re tack it for you.

Good luck.

Thanks!

It seems I cannot fully tighten some of the screws, they keep rotating within the hole when I try to tighten them further

That is what bamboo skewers and wood glue is for.

Ok, the screws are fixed, thanks!
However, the chair kickout is not consistent yet. I did notice that one of the 2 welds was loose.

Would a table clamp work (as a dirty fix) instead of finding a welder?

I replaced mine with the scoop from Mantis when the original welds all came loose. It's working great now.

I wouldn't. If you can't find a welder (any mechanic's shop that works on exhausts should have someone that could tack it back together)
I'd just buy a "new"one, or use duct tape as a temporary fix.

ok, will do, thanks!
