When i go into switch test the rollover registers, the infrared works, but when the ball goes in during play the game goes into ball search before it shoots out.

This also happens occasionally on mine (1 out of 25 times falling in to the back). What the heck?!
I've put in a new switch, and have tried to see if the ball isn't resting properly, but everything seems to be correct.
On your machines, does this happen in both the TX VUK/trough and the Mystery/Command Center trough?
so weird. I played the machine for about 30 minutes this afternoon (one Final Battle and Blitz later), and the machine didn't do one ball search. I'd like to think the problem is solved, but there is no rhyme or reason to it.
Have you checked all the switches in the trough? If there is already a ball or 2 locked back there, it may be having a hard time registering an additional ball dropping in.
Update, game seems to be working again.I replaced the micro switch on the VUK (had to take apart twice since i did not adjust leafs on switch and ball did not register when passing over) also had a sticky sleeve on the standup post coil so sometimes it worked. Thanks for the help.
Following up on this issue for any peeps needing help in the future: Finally had a chance to jump into this and found the solder joint on the VUK switch needed to be touched up. Once I did that, the VUK is back working every single time.
