Who has dealt with the RPG having trouble hitting the top target? I can get it once in a while, just nicking the bottom, but something seems off. Have a look at the picture below, does anything look amiss? I'm debating how to address it.
First thing I noticed is the plunger is not hitting the ball on center, the ball sits way too low, so I cut an old flipper rubber and put it under to align the ball better.
I think the tip of the plunger is worn, I believe the total length is 3.57" if the spec I saw is right, mine is a little short, so probably need a replacement.
The alignment seems a little off, as you can see at the bottom if it were to shoot it would hit into the bracket. Likewise, it doesn't seem to go quite as far as it should at the top of the cycle. So I'm wondering if either the roller pin is worn down or missing a covering band, or maybe the brass wheel is supposed to have a band on it so everything is shifted up a bit.
It also seems that recoil spring is a little strong, maybe steeling some energy, only needs to be strong enough to return the plunger and no more.
I can probably get it sorted with a combination of these things, but wondering if anyone knows the best solution.
By the way, mine had button ware, and I made some carbon fiber guards to cover it, it fits pretty well. If anyone wants a set for theirs, you can have a peek at them here and get in touch:
