Hard to say. They didn't document that stuff back then. The code was pretty finished when they went out the door. There was no internet or USB flashing of the code back then, so it was pretty solid by the time the game shipped.

I had the Profanity ROM in my T2 when I bought it, which is based on pre-release code. I upgraded to L-8. I couldn't tell any difference.

It probably fixes a coin door issue in Bulgaria!

Right...but L-8 existed way before LED's were used. If it fixed the ghosting....it was an un-intentional byproduct of something else.....

What I do know about the L8.1 version is it does not have the BANG sound in the attract mode.
Even with the attract sound turned off it makes this sound, but not in the L8.1 version.

The L8.2 version has in addition to L8.1 that in game over the last scores are displayed longer.
Also the order in the attract mode text in the displays are changed to show the last score some more often.
