Hi,
I am restoring my T2 with new "everything" (playfield, decals, plastics etc.).
But as many others I got my T2 with the stronger FL-11629 coils instead of FL-11630 that the manual says I should use.

Should I replace my FL-11629 and buy new FL-11630? Or just keep FL-11630 (I have read it can break stuff so I am worried about that)

Quoted from zacaj:

The manual and the parts lists contradict each other. I assume at some point during the run they changed them or something? I'd go with stronger coils personally.

Damn! I did not know that.
I knew they shipped them later with the stronger. But did not know the list was different from the manual.

Quoted from Completist:

I believe this is one of the few games where the stronger 11629 flipper coils were recommended post release. I’m not sure if there was any service bulletin issued but i did read it somewhere. Those are very long ramp shots and nothing to worry about breaking too close to the flippers.

I have read about speculations about replacing them with stronger coils so they would last longer on location without service from operators. But I have not seen any bulletin about it.

Could it be that the designer later found out that the game is better with the stronger coils? Or is it just to please operators. I guess we never know?
