T2 Power Driver Board LED 1 is constantly out. According to the manual (pic attached) This LED is normally on. What is this telling me and how to troubleshoot?

This game is doing some weird things and i'm trying to figure out why.

Thanks for your thoughts!

I have had the same lately on a Black Rose.
It turned out to be a corroded trace interruption under the capacitor next to the 12V regulator that leads from the cap to the regulator.
First check if your controlled lamps do work. If they do then check the traces and the regulator i mentioned above.
The machine does weird things because it needs 12V regulated for the switch matrix.

Check fuses before.

Do you have 12Volt at testpoint TP3 ?
I'm asking because you almost simultaneously start a 2nd topic where you still have 12 Volt. Visible because switch inputs work on dmd.

Is area below batteries clean ?

Where is TP3? I'm new to circuit board stuff...

Yes, the batteries do not show signs of corrosion, which I think you're getting at.

After I posted this last night, I noticed the LED 1 had come on. I restarted the machine several times, and it is coming on. So it's definitely a spurious problem.

Weird things like:

Factory resets every time it is turned on - batteries are healthy
Slam Tilts - right in-lane is definitely part of the problem
Gun cannot find home error on startup, but the gun works correctly
During multiball the trough kicker continuously kicks so any time a ball drains it gets kicked back out, auto fire off... so essentially a never ending multiball, which actually IS a bad thing.

First you need a healthy 12Volt. LED1 being OFF and now ON indicates something is wrong.
TP3 is just on the left side of Fuse115 on the powerdriverboard. Have a look on pinwiki about this 12Volt:
