I am going through my T2 before I hook everything up, and this hack doesn't make sense to me. 3 wires going down to two? My guess is this should be only the two yellow/white wires going into a connector...

what does the other side of the connector look like - are there three wires on it and what is it connected to?

Just guessing by the browned connectors that the current through one pin was too much and they were trying to use two pins to relieve the load/heat?

For sure that connector and the corresponding pins need to be replaced. Where does this connector go?

Yellow-Yel/Wh is usually GI. Looks like they went to a heavier gauge wire but if the connector is burnt it's pretty pointless.

New trifurcons and header on the other side are in order. My guess is they didn't have pins/crimper and this was their solution.

GI connector on left side of board. Yellow wire white stripe is looped through an IDC connector to another pin. Or was anyway.

This was their field repair ?

It's probably right next to the piece of foil in a place of a fuse fix in the field repair manual. Thanks for all the tips/suggestions.

I agree with Lloyd. Sometimes the wires are looped, and this is a backwoods hack to get 1 wire split into 2 pins.

Yup. Not really a bad hack except that the split connector that must be on J115 wasn't repaired. This is common on T2 games, where the GI input and output connectors often burn.

You can...
...loop the wires through an IDV connector as was originally done.
...crimp two wires into some of the connector terminals
...split the wire, as was done in your hack, and crimp each individual wire.
