Looks like I am going to have to replace battery holder on my T2 .It has a little bit of acid damage but board is good.I was going to remove it from the board and run it to the side of cabinet in a holder .Do I have other options beside this I seen a few articles on a capacitor but not sure this would work on this game. Thanks for all the help in advance

You can do a remote battery, coin cell battery, memory capacitor, or NVRAM.

Note that it is not actually "battery acid"--it's alkaline. You use acid to remove it. Be sure to clean it up, or the damage will spread.

After cleaning up, replace the batteries with AA lithium batteries. No boardwork required.

NVRAM is the way to go.

Personally, I try to discourage this unless it's for a remote battery pack. Always remove the AA battery back from the MPU to prevent future problems. I've seen many cases where alkaline batteries get substituted for the lithium AA batteries that someone installed, and of course, the alkaline batteries ended up leaking.

NVRAM for the win. NVRAM=never forget=battery free

ChrisHibler would be happy to care of the battery damage and install NVRAM for you.

I forgot I had a holder that I bought years ago so I just used it.I am losing connection Somewhere it’s still not retaining the date and time. I have a continuity tester anyway to check where the connection is being lost on the board I am sure there are tracers inside the board? Any help would be appreciated . The solder connections seem okay.I did notice that a few places on board were the battery holder feet coonect to board might have some of the metal missing. Thanks for help
