There doesn't seem to be any information on repairing the later System One multi tone board anywhere. Does anyone have a source? I have two that just loudly hum when powered up. Or is my only choice to buy a Pascal board? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What game, what board? Can you take a picture of it?

The game is a Gottlieb Totem. First game with the Multi Tone board. I got all the other boards up and running, but I know nothing about this one. Here's a pic.

Looks to me like you have the wrong sound board ROM. The 'L' on the sound ROM is for Genie not Totem.
The 40 pin chip also has internal code but I suspect it is the correct one (R3014-12) - somewhere there is a list for what's used with each game I but can't remember where it is.

Sorry Quench, This is my spare board. The one in the game has the proper "J" ROM in it. I was just too lazy to take it out. I saw the rebuild kits. Just not sure if changing all the caps would cure it. I guess it's worth a shot, unless anybody has some troubleshooting tips.

Man, ya the only replacement I can find is the pascal version at ~$100+

The rebuild is cheap, good place to start. Could replace more components if you can use the schematics and part to see what’s needed.

Caps are a good place to start.

I guess I'll go ahead and recap it and see what happens. Hopefully the 6530 isn't toast, as they are impossible to find.
