I wanted to instal battery socket on motherboard to save high scores. I soldered socket, blocking diode and installed new 3V battery CR2032.
On the next day when I turned on pinball display showed this:

(Missing digits are different issue, not involved)

Every score looks like that.
What I try:
- factory reset in bookkeeping (every statistic shows "8888")
- changing positions of dip switches
- desoldering socket and diode
- cleaning board

Nothing helped. In test mode I have "Memory - OK".
Did I damage Z5 RAM or it's something else?

Without Z5 also nothing changed.
I replaced Z5 RAM but nothing happens. With battery on I can read voltage on Z5.
I have no clues. What other components can be faulty? Anyone?

What voltage do you measure at pin 22 from Z5 when the game is powered off and the Lithium battery is installed?

Using a 1N400x / 1N4148 blocking diode will subtract 0.7V from the 3V battery voltage. The 62 Ohm series resistor is also still installed, maybe the stand by voltage is getting a bit too low. You can try using a schottky diode (1N5817, BAT46, BAT85).

There is also a possibillity there is somthing wrong with the chip selection for Z5. A testrom is a nice tool to check if this is working properly. You can send me a PM with your email address to obtain a testrom for system 80.

The "memory ok" in testmode is probably only a test for the RIOTs' internal memory - but I am not sure Z5 is also covered in this test (you can try to run the test without Z5, the game will boot normally without Z5).
