I just had a problem similar to that only mine dropped to 4.38 and the adjustment was flakey ...took the power supply out ...cleaned the adjustable resistor with contact cleaner took out the regulator and replaced the heatsink compound then reinstalled the regulator and resoldered all the connections on the power supply pcb ...its solid as a rock now
