I recently got my new pins and started to change them out. Today I ordered the extractor off of eBay but getting them back in is a pain. Can u lube them with anything? Or is there a trick that makes it easier?

    Hi Kurt,

No lube. They should just snap in.
Since you mentioned the extractor, I assume those edge connectors are not the IDC version?
And, you aren't using trifurcon pins, right?

I got the .156 pins. So it should just push in easily. Will it click or snap when it gets into position.

Yes, they should snap in. Unless you got really fat wires crimped in there, then that part may have to get shoved in a bit, bit the connector should just be a click.

The pins are flat where they will contact the edge connector, right?

Also, after crimping, make sure the locking 'tang' is not flattened flush with the contact. This is the piece of the contact that locks into place and makes the 'clicking' sound when installing.
