My jungle lord has been playing great but now it has developed an issue where it boots into audit mode only. You can runt through the audits and it may go into attract mode or it may go back into audit. You run through the audits again and then it will go into attract mode and you can play. Will not hold the free play setting from turning off to turning on. I put original boards back into the machine and pulled out the pinballpcb boards because I wanted to be as original as possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Battery or battery holder....?

Has batteries. Got to change them out for a coin battery holder.

Original board. Is clean and has had no acid damage

If you can get to attract mode by quickly power cycling twice with the coin door open, the RAM is probably ok but not getting battery voltage.

Measure the voltage right at the ram chip. Ground and pin 22 of the ram chip, top left corner. If the battery voltage is missing at the ram chip check the diodes near the battery.

On system4 to system7 pinballs all the game's options and audits are stored in CMOS memory (system3 is a bit different). If the batteries are dead, or the battery holder is damaged, or the blocking diode D17 has failed, or there's a bad IC19 RAM 5101 chip, or battery corrosion has damaged the CPU board, the game will power up into "audit mode".

I replaced the battery pack with the coin battery board. The batteries were dead and I just put them in a month or so ago. They were brand new. Where exactly on the cmos do I check if IC 19 is bad. Should I just replace it with an nvram. It already has a socket. The game still boots into audit mode and doesn’t retain the settings

I don't recognize that sram chip being used. What is the part number? I can't make it out from picture but maybe a 2101 which will drain the battery very fast. It looks to be in an IC socket already tho so I would just get a 5101 nvram.

Edit. maybe vt7c122? Quick look on the phone i don't see battery back up talked about at the top of the datasheet or standby currents listed so may not be intended for battery backed up ram.

So this is all I would need and then take out the coin battery I installed

Solved installed nvram and the issue went away. Thanks for the help.
