Hey guys,

I'm working on a major Firepower project and I've got it down to one light issue left (other than the missing speech board). There were multiple light issues in this game (among all the other stuff!) that I've already fixed including missing flasher "fire" and "power" bulbs and sockets that were cut out with burnt up resistors on their associated board under the play field, missing cut out lamp sockets and diodes for the 4x and 5x multipliers, mis-wired "I" and "R" lights in the top lanes, a bad tip42 on the driver board for a column being out, 2 bad (loose/broken) GI lamp sockets, a cut GI ground wire on the back box light board, hmmm.... I think that's it except for this last little light bugger:

With a system 6 mpu in a Firepower, I have one feature light (the 9,000 bonus light) in the middle of the playfield, that lights up and flashes properly with all the other controlled lights in diagnostic test mode, but doesn't light up in attract or in game mode.

I swear I've read some information about that exact issue before, but I can't seem to locate it. Was it something to do with the mpu controlling the lights at one point and the driver board controlling them at another?

No info on a light not working in game or attract mode, but working properly in diagnostic test mode?

I have written some test ROMs from scratch, that are designed to run in the game. Give them a try and see if they help you find the problem.

You can download them from here: http://pincoder.reversion.ca

There is also a thread on this site where you can leave some feedback: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/new-williams-system-6-in-game-test-roms

Let me know how you make out!

It may come down to how long the bulb is being fired.. Lamps in the matrix are never continuously on, so diagnostics could be firing them for longer, while attract/game mode could be slightly shorter. The difference could be very little, and perhaps the driver board transistors for that bulb are not reacting in time. Try swapping wires with the bonus 10K light and see if you get the same result.
