Restoring a High Speed game, I found faults in the sling shots that blew apart the special solenoid section in the past, the coils themselves are shot but while the MPU is at Clives I'm going threw the electrical and mechanical components in detail.

The Slingshots (kickers as described in Williams manuals in 1986) have switches with polarized capacitors that have been installed not by the factory since they are both different on each sling. My question is are they required? the schematics in the manual don't illustrate nor include these in the switch matrix diagram. I've never seen these in any machine except for Bally, they use bi-polar capacitors, I also noticed resistors installed that are dark from age I suppose.

Does anyone know if these aluminum capacitors can be removed entirely without affecting performance or creating MPU consequence?

Quoted from wayout440:

.
System 11 special solenoids have the cap and resistor in parallel to the switch to lengthen the pulse, you'll want to keep those or you might experience performance issues with the slings. The values are a 100 ohm 1/2 watt resistor and a 22 mfd 100 volt electrolytic capacitor.

Thank you wayout, should I use a bi-polar cap?
