Got a customer's DE playboy with 3.8v on the 5 volts, and some interesting arcs on startup. I need to replace its power board. I don't have any spare Data East ones from that era. I've seen various places that you can stick a williams 11 power board in place of the 5000 DE one. Is it any system 11 power board? I think I have the right ones, but I want to make sure. Are any modifications needed? Or can I just pull it out of a Diner or a Cyclone, and plunk it in?

For a DE Playboy, the earlier WMS Sys11 PS (think Cyclone, Pinbot) should plug right in.

The Diner style is the newer PS, like Taxi - end of sys11 use, and won't be pinout compatible.

I would suggest that you verify the fuse values to the manual before installing it, as I've repaired a ton of these, and don't think I've had many with correct rated fuses installed, and also hook up the inputs and check the output voltages before hooking the outputs up.

Fair enough. Cyclone, I shall test ye! Thank you.
