Can someone help me. I must have the wiring on the upper flipper of my High Speed off somewhere. The lowers work, but the upper does nothing when I flip but the game dims. I turned it off and the 5a fuse in the small board is toast. The typical wiring is solid on banded side and stripe on non banded. Well I wired it like it was before I replaced the mech but something has to be off. Can someone help? Thanks

I think I may see what the issue is. The coil is backwards from the original and the pre made mech came that way. So looks like the wires are all jacked up

Well no dice. I corrected the flipper and it still blows the fuse after about 2 flips from the lower. The upper never flips. Pics of the new flipper orientation

Yeah that picture makes me think I have something wired wrong, but for the life of me can’t seem to figure out what

Looks like a poor or burned connection here

You had the "always live" wires connected to the incorrect side of the coil initially and this toasted the diode on the coil the MICROSECOND you turned the power on - there is no forgiving here, semiconductors fry instantly!

Then the fuse popped AFTER the diode shorted.

You need to GET A METER and confirm the hot side of the wires - replace the diode on the coil as it will be shorted.

A 1N4004~7 will do the trick and you should have a handful of these in your pinball spares box - they are used in many places.

Question is, are they hooked up right now? I ordered a bunch of diodes also

Also recommend tidying up this wiring of your EOS...there's a bunch of loose wire strands there that could be shorting to the flipper plate (wouldn't necessarily blow a fuse, but not recommended to have your flipper plate at 70VAC).
This bulb also...recommend rotating the tabs and the lamp diode away from the flipper plate. If they're not shorting now, they could be with just a little jiggling and jostling.
