Just wondering if anyone could point a noobie in the right direction. I'm having an issue with my display where the first digit of the top and bottom left side is light up for no reason. The bottom one only lights up when there is text in the bottom display but the top one is always light up.

I will try that this weekend when I get home. Thank you very much.

i tried to clean the connectors and still the same issue.

Quoted from V_piscopo:Could be a bad connection. Pull off the connectors and clean with a tooth brush and reseat them. Don't know if it will fix it but can't hurt to try and only takes a couple seconds.

Thank you very much. I'm going to check it this weekend when I'm home. I've been working on the road Monday- Friday lately so have only been able to look at it on the weekend. I don't have a logic probe but I'll pick one up.

I don't think there is any corrosion on the board where the battery holder was.

I deffinately see what you are saying now about how the same parts of the digits light up.

Quoted from ChrisHibler:

Also, try this.
Game off.
Remove connector 1J1 from the MPU.
Power on.
P1 display should be blank now. Is that the case?
--

I did this and yes both the displays on the left are blank now.

I also checked the traces in the circled area and they all had continuity. Just waiting on my logic probe to come in.
