Some BK2K prototypes also had "Diamond Plating".
EXTREMELY RARE, as during the production run this was removed for cost savings and was replaced with a full mylar coating overlay.
Worst mistake Williams ever did with this game, beyond switching to an alternate plastics set, and changing the font color of the backglass.
NOS playfields for this game remain "unoptanium" and I have only seen 5 complete sets (upper and lower PFs) in over 20 years.

I just got a DP Riverboat Gambler off the Pinside Market and it was cleared by HSA too.

I am not sure how many coats are on this thing, but can you have too many coats?

I am hoping HSA knows best on this, any thoughts?

Any tips before I make the swap?

Just finished restoring a DP diner playfield.. collors stand out much more.
And the fluor orange looks great.

Does anyone have a clue how many diner DP playfields were made?

I have a DP Diner & Whirlwind.

I also have a reproduction Funhouse playfield, which reads Diamond Plate, to put in my game.

Do / did they make Diner and/or Whirlwind repo PF with Diamond Plate written on them?

I have a DP Taxi, I’s a Marylin, I think it is the only Taxi DP made, and if you look at production run it might be the first machine done DP. Never seen or heard of another.
I bought it probably 15 years ago from an operator as a package deal with other games. Cabinet was kinda rough and at the time I bought for parts as it had the marylin translite. After I got it home I looked closer and under all the dirt on the PF I couldn’t believe there was no yellowing. And closer look it is a factory clear coat.
It’s way deep in my storage in unrestored condition. I will get pictures when I get in there

WOW... that would be quite a find!

I didn't think they did any DP PF's until late 89' to early 90'

I believe there were 7-10 of them. Chris Bucci I think has one? They were for a show in Chicago in 88’. I don’t know all the details but I thought it was something like that.
