Added System 11 pin #4!!

EARTHSHAKER!!!!

#444 10 years ago

it does not, woulda been cool. Still way fun the way it is!

#449 10 years ago

So Jokerz has your typical hum. Not a big deal.

But I can't get past a severe buzz when the flashers kick in. Ruins the game for me.

Read some solutions. I have re-capped the p/s pcb.

I haven't even played a dozen games since I bought it. Depressing.

Hey all, so my Sys 11's need some playfield TLC, and I am a noob at this part of it...

Are there any good YouTube tutorials about cleaning and waxing playfields?

i have talked to some people, and feel I need a reliable source on waxing!

Thanks!

Quoted from GPS:

Hey SC,
I have used Maguires Liguid Gold Carnuba wax on my machines and it works very well. Apply sparingly making usre not to gunk up the switches etc and then let haze and wipe it off. I see a much bigger difference from before to after with my older E/M's as opposed to my F-14 which has a mylar covering on it.
George

What about existing dust/dirt on the playfield? My Big Guns looks very dirty.

Quoted from GPS:

Hey SC,
I have used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser on my other machines and they seem to work quite well. Wet it of course but squeeze out the majority of the water prior to wiping the playfield. I think you will find this does a good job as I have.
George...

I have cleaned many video game overlays with Magic Erasers. it's Micro Sand Paper.

Knowing the damage these can cause I would feel good using them. Aren't there any wipes of any kind?

#493 10 years ago

Cleaned some glass and played like 20 games or more!

I'm still looking for a BK2K... must rock with the music!!

#876 9 years ago

As a owner of a Jokerz! I agree with you all. Underated as with most System 11s.

Love the theme, the center ramp is awesome. Fun simple game.

DMD snobs often overlook games like these..

Hey guys, it was recommended to me to change out the Bridge that works with the flipper coils... Any idea where that might be? It is on a Jokerz machine.

Super exclusive ad from the Pinside Marketplace!
#1370 8 years ago

Which I already replaced with a whole new one...

#1372 8 years ago

Ok, the video illustrates the problem. In a cold room machine plays fine. Once it warms up, and you start a game, the buzz starts when the flashers light up.

Now. Once you end a game and the power is cut to the flippers the buzz goes away while its playing the game over music.

I have capped the p/s and replaced the aux power supply pcb with a new one. no change. I was gonna adress the Bridge Rectifier on the P/S next.

Also GI lights are all out on the right side.

Any help you Sys 11 guys? I love this game!

#1376 8 years ago

Did a cap kit on the p/s pcb. 30K Cap? Which bridge are we talking about?

I DID NOT replace the bridge on the P/s. So its still original.

#1381 8 years ago

I see. No i didn't do any repairs.. actually it came to me this way. I have to do the hum mod, but this isn't that problem.

Do the values have to be exact for these parts? Pinball life has a bridge @ 35A 200Volts, and that cap at 15Kufd 35V?

#1384 8 years ago
Quoted from GRUMPY:

They have the wire bridge, you need a lug bridge.

Ok, whats a lug bridge?

So can I assume all System 11B machines will have the same color coding on their inter-connect plugs?

If thats the case, I need some pix of the connectors that plug into the Master interconnect PCB..

Could I get pics of plugs J9, J7, and J6? mine look like hacked crapola!

Thanks! This will help with repairs!!

Quoted from PinballManiac40:

Wow. That interconnect board looks toasted. You have a long red wire running from J6 to a fuse, just above J7 that "fixes" a heavily burnt trace. I would suggest buying another board since J6 will be difficult to repair without adding wires and still be reliable. If you choose to repair it, I would shorten the length of the wire and run it on the backside of the board. Though, you likely have internal board problems which is why it burnt so badly.
So you can look for a replacement D-12313-xxxx board, where xxxx is the configuration of the resistors/jumpers on the 'W' locations. I see one on Ebay for $50 that was in very nice condition recently. At one time, Marco had new replacement boards, but I think they were about $120, but at least they came already configured for what ever game you needed it for.

Ug, Well.. I have parts on the way to fix it, I guess once its off the machine I can really see whats going on.

I'd still like pics if thats possible?

Hey all. So I am re-joining the Sys 11 club, I have someone shopping a Jokerz for me.

What I'd like to know, is if there are truly any above 3K System 11 titles? I'm looking to grow my collection and have seen some what I would say wonky pricing. Now I know people can ask what they want, but I was wondering about your input?

Thanks!

Ps. I'm looking for a Police Force next.. my son is into Police/Fire cars/truck stuff!

Just re-joined the Sys11 club!

Picked up a Jokerz yesterday, and its a great game. Sold all my pins 3 years ago, and have cursed that day since.

Looking for more already. BK2K, Police Force, BOP, and a cpl others..

Only issue with this one is the flashers on the ramp are missing their wiring.. need to look into that.

A case can be made that system 11 games are some of the best in all of pinball!

Quoted from DudeRegular:

I am just wrapping up a bunch of work on my Space Station. I had some speaker hum. I read through a bunch of sites and found some suggested ground related feedback through the contacts in the backbox. I removed the screws on my sound board and the hum went way down. I ended up installing nylon washers on each side of the board. That helped a bunch with the hum. There is still some there, but it is very faint compared to what it was. Hopefully it helps someone else.

Do you think this would help with the hum from Jokers?
