Quoted from kciaccio:Just my mind rambling but how long will these system 11 games will be desirable before they drop off like the EM machines have?
And guesses.. 15 years maybe?
Just thinking out loud..
Did EMs ever have a "drop off?" They were cheap 10 years ago and are slightly less cheap now. What am I missing?
My prediction: all pins will eventually drop off in price, but it won't be for a long time and not until the current generation who grew up with them dies off and the Millennials take over. We'll be pretty much FUBARed by then anyway, so pins will be the least of our concerns.
Quoted from inicksf06:sign me up!
I have a Taxi. It's a game I was playing when it first came out in 1988, i was 17 at the time.
This game is BY FAR the most resulted pinball IMHO.
Taxi is one of the fastest Sys11 pinball created.
I also have Sys11's direct descendants with a WPC-Alpha FunHouse and a WPC-DCS Star Trek: The Next Generation.
That is a helluva nice Taxi! Except for some coin door wear it looks perfect! Taxi is a pin that I have always wanted, but I've never been able to find a decent one for the right price. People seem to think they're made of gold or else they're ratted out.
I'm going to look at a Dr. Dude and a Diner this weekend. My Sys 11 cred could be getting a boost!
Quoted from rotordave:I would just say that F14 Tomcat is one of the better pinball machines ever made, IMO. It combines flow shots, speed, good understandable ruleset, not one but 3!! super rad flashing lights on the top that get the whole rooms attention .... it’s the whole package.
A-freaking-men! I'm literally kicking myself for not adding one to the lineup sooner. I think F-14 puts many a WPC to shame... so friggen fast and fun, and with full LEDs it's just an amazing light show. I threw a party last weekend and it easily garnished the most attention out of my lineup.
I'm a little under-impressed with Diner. Of my four System 11s that I currently have working (GL, the broken-down derelict doesn't count), it's solidly in last. But when you're comparing it to Whirlwind, ES, and F-14 last isn't as bad as it seems. Maybe it'll grow on me...
