Aside from the aforementioned just keep the ball in the upper playfield comments, I found BK2K to be so right flipper heavy that I thought I was developing carpal tunnel from playing it. However, the lights and sounds are second to none.
Quoted from rotordave:One day I’m going to take the wireform off the front of the upper playfield ... so when the ball comes down through the WAR lanes, it doesn’t always just land on the left flipper.
That should spice things up a bit!
rd
That'll shorten the game for tourney's. We had to wait for a while on our game to finish last time I was in a tournament with BK2K in the mix. We were the last group to finish that round by a while.
What would be the no-brainer purchase price for a bk2000?
Pin shows some insert wear, but looks and plays fine. At what price would you be an idiot for not buying?

$1500 or so. I'm not a fan of the gameplay, but would definitely pick one up at that price. Play for a bit, then trade it out.
I agree with $1500 being a no-brainer. That wouldn't last 10 minutes on CL for a decent player BK2000. I would think 22-25 hundred would be a more fair realistic value.
As far as the game is concerned, I really like it and think it is fun as hell even if it is right flipper heavy. I am not a good enough pinball player to be able to keep the ball in the upper PF forever and just run up the score up there.

Do you have a bead on one?
Have you given up on bad cats??
Quoted from Daditude:Do you have a bead on one?

Yeah. It’s in decent shape and wants 2200. Just not feeling the game though.
Quoted from Blackbeard:Guys thoughts on bk2000?
I’ve owed most system 11s. This one I haven’t.
I like progressive jackpots and not sure this one has one.
Thoughts on it?
I never liked playing it. I dunno...
Was playing my transporter the other night and started to smell something and noticed the right side GI was out. Everything else works.
I checked all fuses and repinned the connector that controls left and right side GI. The right side is controlled by the purple and purple/white wires.
I can't figure it out, any ideas?

What connector did you change, and did it have any burnt pins? No burnt pins found on J6 of the interconnect board? Make sure you pull the 4 GI fuses off the interconnect board and test the fuses as the transformer will disguise a blown fuse in the GI circuit.
There is a playfield GI relay on the underside of the playfield. Any burnt pins to those 2 connectors of this relay board? If not, swap the playfield GI relay board with the backbox relay for further testing.
Having some sound issues, any ideas?

Sign me up! My favorite era of pinball. Just picked up a #fire, but hope to get more in the future. There was a great thread for system 11 mods and other things that should be replaced/done as soon as you get a system 11, but now I can't find it!!! Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Quoted from guitarded:Anyone know where I can find a 'Bally' Logo / Emblem for an EatPM?
Are you talking about the diamond shaped emblem that goes on the coin door of some games? There's no spot for that on EATPM. Where are you looking to put this thing?

no he's talking about the BALLY logo that is attached to the top of the front of the backboxes, just above the backglass.

Blackbeard has it. Looking for the Script Badge on the Header. And any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys, I was going over the flippers on this Fire! pinball and noticed that the right flipper is missing the yellow capacitor. Game plays normally, just wondering if it should be there (i think so?), and what the purpose of those capacitors is generally.
Quoted from Scrimmbo:just wondering if it should be there (i think so?), and what the purpose of those capacitors is generally.
Yes it should be there, it reduces the sparks across the EOS switch contacts which makes them last longer.

Interesting... I was wondering what those were for . It hadn't made sense to me why they were there. Is that the same with the ones on the flipper switches?
Quoted from yaksplat:Is that the same with the ones on the flipper switches?
Yep.
Does anyone know where to find service switch 3 bank assembly for the coin door? Marco has 4 bank, but hasn’t had 3 bank for years. This is for my Bad Cats, BTW.
Quoted from sawbill:Does anyone know where to find service switch 3 bank assembly for the coin door?
You can buy the individual switches from Digikey in MN.
Thanks Grumpy! Looks like I might be able to find the chassis and red/black buttons at Digikey as well.
Quoted from sawbill:red/black buttons at Digikey as well.
Yes they have them too. Playball!
This has been discussed elsewhere and it seems that the center self-latching switch is the one that's hard to come by. I took a look at Digikey, but I don't know enough about switch terminology to reasonably narrow down their 170,000 push button switch choices.

DigiKey sure has a TON of stuff! Hard to find what you want for sure! Filters are your friend lol
I believe the ON-ON DPDT are the latching switches. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/c-k/F2UEE/401-1223-ND/417517
I would give them a call to be safe.

Sign me up! I have a High speed, Diner, and now a Taxi. I posted this in the Taxi club but probably should have put this here.
The bottom row of the main display is totally blank. Top row works fine, the separate 7 digit display works fine. I have a Diner with a led replacement display so I swapped it into Taxi but I had nowhere to plug the 7 digit in.
Now I get info on all 4 player sections. Top row (1 and 2) look fine as before. Bottom row player 3 looks mostly fine but missing the occasional segment. Player 4, the display is working but all the inner extra segments are lit all the time make it impossible to see the main segments displaying words.
Swapped the display back into Diner and it looks normal again. Any idea how to figure out what is happening?
One other question, how do I get the Taxi topper to light during test? It does not seem to operate during solenoid test mode.

This sounds like a ribbon cable issue to me. Try fiddling with the display ribbon connector and see if the issue comes and goes. And where the cable plugs into cpu.

Especially when I activated both flippers at once. It did it everytime. I turned game off and back on and seemed to be okay for a bit. Turned it on and off again and it would reset. Turned on and off a third time after checking all the diodes and worked fine. Getting "-error-" message in AU menu which I read was an indication of a bad diode causing resets. Do I just shotgun all the diodes?
