My Police Force was off today when I went to check the location it's in. Powered up and it said U25 RAM FAILURE, which is pretty lame since I just replaced that less than a year ago. Is there something that could have made it go bad so quickly? I might do NVRAM this time around.

While you are in the backbox, don't forget to add fuses to the bridge rectifiers.
Another option is to put in one of my Bridge Boards.
It will address the fire hazard problem if one of the bridge rectifiers go bad.
Just take a look on my website http://www.inkochnito.nl and click on the Bridge Board image.

Jokerzzzz is hands down the best bang for buck Sys11 out there. Great game.

That is the scary thing. We are looking at land. Which means room to build an outbuilding. I guess it will have to be as long as one row for all the system 11's. Then I can just drop them in as I find them.

Being over 1/2 way feels like a feat unto itself.

Are you going for it, too? All of them?

After replacing C30 on Diner to fix my display not showing anything and causing the game not to boot, the issue is back. It's only been a few months. I ordered 5 of those caps, so I could replace it again, but could that really be the issue? Is there another part of the display reset circuit that might also need to be looked at?

I mean I love system 11’s. So I might as well pursue them all........ just means I have to have titles like pool sharks & bugs bunny.

Pool sharks is cool.

Bigs bunny is a kids game and if you look at it like that, it is what it is. I have people at my place who really like playing it.

Haven’t found any that like playing millionaire yet. Lol

Some work went into my Jokerz this last week. Right side GI not working fixed. Left drop bank not working fixed. LED upgrade done. Upper playfield swap done. I have a couple bulbs on the upper playfield to figure out why they arent working. My Translight is super faded, and the LED's highlighted that even when using frosted LED's. I may switch the Orange flashers on the playfield to Red and Blue. The Orange looks out of place with the upper playfield flashers being Red and Blue, and the playfield not being smoke yellow/orange.

I asked this in the Jokerz thread but does someone make sling protectors for it. It seems to me those slings are in danger of damage since they hang out over the playfield. I know system 11 machines used them in a few machines so I would mind having a few sets.

Also is there a RollerGames club? I’m looking for a protector for the droptarget bank as well.

Working on a Riverboat Gambler for a friend. Started shopping and noticed I can not loosen any of the 10-15 metal screws or posts that secure starpost to the pf....I know when I first got in the hobby I tried to keep turning on a pin once and you end up snapping the post at the base and its a pain to replace. Why do these seize up? Both the ones that are a Phillips or a nut driver will not turn. Thought I read once mismatched metals can seize up. Any suggestions?

Looks like Ill have to clean posts on the pf which is not how I like to clean them.

Old thread lock.

I've had some success with using a soldering iron to heat the underside of the T-nut. Seems to break the bond.

soldering iron on the threaded end of the screw under the PF, it will heat the locktite and and come loose, the t-nut will take some heat also, but putting the soldering iron there is a waste of time. On the screw will move heat into the locktite most efficiently

great. sounds like my plan is set.

#2536 5 years ago
Quoted from desertT1:

On Whirlwind I have been getting locked balls kicked out automatically. I asked on here and the first suggestion was to replace the 3 lock switches. I did that and played a few games without issue. On the last test game I was going to play sure enough the balls kick out. So about the same regularity prior to the new switches. It hasn't mattered if there are one or two balls locked.
I set up both 1 and 2 balls locked and triggered each switch on the rows and column that are shared with the 3 lock switches. I did this multiple times. None of them triggered it to kick out the balls. One thing to note is that when it kicks out the balls it just kicks them out. If there is one locked and I drop another into the lock area (as if the next highest switch is triggered) it will say "ball 2 locked" and then kicks out the next ball. So at this point I don't think it's a lock switch activating and causing it to kick out.

I had this happening with my Big Guns and it ended up being intermittent connections in the cabinet/backbox connector for the switch harness. It would seemingly randomly come and go and generally switch test looked totally fine.

Quoted from Daditude:

I am looking to buy Big Guns in the near future.
Any advice or recommendations?
I haven't seen any listings for it in awhile.

Check the wireforms for broken welds. Check the paths to the two side lock shots for wear, those are the only spots I've had wear through on mine. Also make sure it's got the little ball for the bagetelle, AFAIK there's no replacement available if it's missing.

Describe what the 3 red LEDs on the MPU are doing.

Did you replace the capacitors on the power supply?
Can you measure the voltages on the power supply?

Can you post a picture of the power supply and the MPU?

Both amazing games. Although Atlantis isnt a sys11. It’s 6803. Feels like a sys11 though. And it’s still a great machine.

Hmm, that's some pretty good sleuthing. Can I ask what it took to fix this? Reseating the connector? Repin wires and a new header? Reflow solder?

#2544 5 years ago

Ok have fixed lots of pins but this is the first time that I have one that does nothing when I power on....Riverboat Gambler and it has a Rottendog PS and I am getting 12v, -12v and 100v on test points but nothing at 5v test point. Ive checked fuses with DMM and they all tone ok. What should I check next. Need to down load manual pdf which will help me see which connectors to check as well.

Reseating it in my case would fix it for a couple games but the issue always came back. I ended up repinning the whole thing.

Just my mind rambling but how long will these system 11 games will be desirable before they drop off like the EM machines have?

And guesses.. 15 years maybe?

Just thinking out loud..

I'm certain it has a system 11 sound board though. May be why people think it's a system 11.

Did EMs ever have a "drop off?" They were cheap 10 years ago and are slightly less cheap now. What am I missing?

My prediction: all pins will eventually drop off in price, but it won't be for a long time and not until the current generation who grew up with them dies off and the Millennials take over. We'll be pretty much FUBARed by then anyway, so pins will be the least of our concerns.
