Well the sound works great until the MC68B09E chip warms up and then it fails. Marco sells the MC6809E that is a 1MHz chip. The MC68B09E is rated for 2MHz. Can I use the slower chip in this application?

The oscillator is 8MHz so I'll be buying the MC68B09E for sure. The game starts out working fine for about 10 minutes and then shuts off. This chip is the only one warm to touch. If I put the logic probe to the ribbon inputs, they are still getting the same signals. If I let it cool off for 4 or 5 minutes, the sound will work properly for a minute or two.
This info posted for future searchers. Thanks barakandl.
