Quoted from SkyKing2301:

DUDE ... wtf ... I think that's a testament to how fun this game is -- it NEVER even occurred to me until you said this, that there are no pop bumpers!
Hilariously, a few days ago I was having a conversation with my son about how unusual it is for a game to be without pop bumpers -- while we were standing literally five feet away from SoF. (The only ones that came to mind offhand right then were Big Guns -- which we used to own -- and No Fear. I'm sure there are several more ... apparently including SoF! lol)[quoted image]

Shadow has none..

Quoted from DanMarino:

I've never come across a Swords of Fury to play on location or at a pinball show. I currently own a High Speed and will one day own another System 11 or two. How does SOF rank in everyone's comparison of System 11 games? I love High Speed, enjoy PinBot (that dang left out lane! haha), I enjoy Taxi, and Space Station, and thoroughly love playing Black Knight 2000. If I ever come across an affordable SOF for purchase, should I jump on it?

Come to Bristol, Tn. We have a SOF, HS, and HS2 on free play, along with several other system 11 pins…..

Judge dredd also, scooby doo I think, Ultraman, tna has pop bumper
Whirlwind has 6!

#1554 1 year ago
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

I've played it. In my opinion, it is tied for second with Funhouse and only behind Whirlwind in system 11 games. Its a really cool game and plays very differently from other System 11s.

Funhouse is a WPC game. It's just a pre-dmd WPC like BOP. So I guess SOF just got bumped up a rank.

Does anyone have a pic of the proper target decals for the stand-ups? Every pic I see, they are missing. Thanks

Supposed to be these, though someone sells a set that match the colors of each "lane". I have them (since you can see U have an original that's damaged) but I haven't installed them yet obviously.

I need the stand-ups, not the drops. Do you have a pic of those?

I am not aware of decals on the stand ups being original...just the drops and the spinners...

Yeah, I'm just wondering what the originals looked like. I'm sure they had something on them from the factory.

Oh derp, I guess I misread it since there aren't decals on the stand-ups, to my knowledge.

Ok. So they were white from the factory then? Just thought they would've had decals but guess not. Thanks

Here's a screenshot off the original flyer, from ipdb.org , targets are plain white.

Hey folks.

Putting my upper playfield together and trying to find replacements for the spacers/posts that go here. (See picture) I have one thin metal one but it’s all janky.

And the other looks like a cob jobbed plastic piece and not what was originally intended to be there.

I tried searching Marco for “spacer” and “post” but didn’t see anything that looked like a match.

Mine has the same; 1 metal and 1 plastic. Not sure where to find them though.

Agreed - 1 metal, 1 plastic...you'll have to search out the Blue for the parts.... https://www.planetarypinball.com/williamsbally-parts-manuals

Anyone have a new translight for this game? My translight is faded and I am looking for a new one.

Just be aware this backglass has some differences in the artwork and is VERY dark in some areas. The mirroring looks awesome, so that's the tradeoff. What really helped improve it was adding some bright (& colored in some spots) LEDs behind it -- incandescent were inadequate, the whole thing was too dim.

#1572 1 year ago

Thanks guys! Man that's a pricey translight! lol I like though..

It's expensive because it's an actual glass with the mirroring, not a translite.

Okay, it’s an actual glass I see. Looks nice! Does it come with the trim on it?

Hmmm... I don't think it did, IIRC. The listing says "Polished corners and edges, ready for new 1/8″ backglass trim and lift bar", so that kinda sounds like it doesn't. Pretty sure I transferred my old ones over to the new one.

Does not come with trim.
I love mine, but I wish the sword runes were present like on the translight.

All I’ve ever found is full cabinet art kits for it.

But I wouldn’t mind just a front decal.

Mine had front repair done and the whole front painted black (before I got it). Side art is just fine.

If you find a front decal someplace, lemmie know and I’ll get one too.

#1579 1 year ago

Found a Swords of Fury Key Chain (FOB) if interested, pm. $10 shipped.

Anyone have any extra metal parts for the underside of the upper ramp? Bought a used playfield and those parts are all gone, presumably on a Freeplay40 ramp. I'm also needing a Mystery Tunnel plastic. Thanks.

I did add a subwoofer and I love it, there's a surprising amount of bass in there you don't get to hear from the stock speakers. Definitely gets you pumped during multiball too, very bassy there!

#1582 1 year ago

Brought one home!

Okay yeah I like the music and figured it would definitely sound better. What sub did you get? pinsound?

I have a couple of these 10" Polk audio ones -- they go on sale for $100-$120 occasionally. They have two sets of inputs (so I hook 2 machines into each) and the bass output is adjustable to your liking.

Polk Audio PSW10 10" Powered Subwoofer - Power Port Technology, Up to 100 Watts, Big Bass in Compact Design, Easy Setup with Home Theater Systems Black

How about this. Anyone interested in replacing their old stock parts (or anyone interested in buying the new upper ramp and doing the same)? Kerry from Mantis would be up for it but would obviously need more interest than just making them for me. PM me if you be willing to put your name down for a purchase. Thanks.

Which parts exactly are you trying to source?

Underside of the upper ramp.

Quick question... when you hear the callout "Go for the tunnel!" and the magic tunnel ramp starts blinking, if you successfully hit the ramp is something supposed to happen? When I hit it I do hear a noise registering that the ball went up the ramp, but the countdown just continues anyway, and eventually a "TOO LATE" appears on the display. I have tested the switch for the ramp and it appears to be functioning and registering the ball properly. It makes the 'ascending' sound cue when I hit the ramp... Just not sure if I'm missing something else?

#1591 11 months ago

scarybeard A successful tunnel ramp shot with then light the Lionman center ramp so if you want to snag that you either shoot behind the drops to get a chance with the upper left center flipper or let the ball fall down off upper playfield and try to snipe the Lionman ramp with the lower flippers before it times out.

Hitting the tunnel during that time will complete the AVENGER targets for you. In turn, completing AVENGER will trigger LIONMAN to prompt you to shoot the middle ramp, though this can be challenging since now you're on the upper PF.

I officially joined the club today. It's been quite the group effort and a new learning experience for me. Shout-outs to PinballRx for the donor cab, Pin_-_K for selling me a populated playfield, GVONM for transporting it back from Texas for me, and rockwell for having everything I needed to build all the connectors in the backbox and cabinet. Special thanks to DumbAss for his awesome boards, excellent documentation and willingness to help me out when I got totally lost and confused by a few of the less finer moments from Williams schematic writers.

Also, thanks to anyone in this group that posted up close photos of wiring and boards so I could double check my work. I also had to make and wire my own insert panel since no one sells that one. That includes our comrades that sold their precious LIONMAN! and put up decent pics in the Market.

If anyone upgraded to a backglass and wants to part with a junky and burnt translite, let me know.

Just finished the shop job with mostly fresh rubbers and all LEDs. Got all the lights working, but my backbox is stuck shut after the move. I stand by my decision to hook up the external sub on this one.

Anybody know what the material for the stickers on the drop targets is called here? At a minimum I need to replace what is there, but I was debating trying to color match them with the material. Thanks!

Send a PM to @Sonic, he's got color-matched decals for those drop targets. I bought em but haven't put em on yet.
