Thanks
Nope, all decals made remade with a computer, printed as stencils and then airbrushed.
Yep, cleared and just to be sure the PF protector on top of it. Probably overkill but I want it to stay pristine
Have added 3 spotlights since the above pics in order to light the game a bit more.

Very clever! I also have a PF protector in the wait.

Do you mind me asking, what type of cutter you are using to create the stencils? I have though about the silhouette type devices.

Hey guys, I'm getting my SoF in the next few weeks. I send a PM to freeplay40 about the ramps but didn't get a reply, does anybody know if I can purchase the ramps somewhere else?

My apologies.... I had another international order for the SOF ramps at the same time and I must have gotten the two of you confused. Found your pm and responding now.

No idea, I am not the one who did it. Was done by Franck Niro.

I had something weird happen on SoF last night, and I'm not sure if it's an easter egg or a glitch. I shot a ball up the center ramp while it was lit to lock ball one, and at the same time, the shot also collected the Lionman bonus. Suddenly, the machine started playing the fanfare theme that plays when you're entering a high score! Anyone ever had that happen before?

Joined the club (my first pin!) a few days ago. Landed a good deal from a Pinsider that bought it from T and T a couple of years ago. Awesome shape for a game from 1988. Loving it so far, going to make a few small changes and play the heck out of it!

Oh...LIONMAN!

Love it.

These system 11 manuals are rough! I'm fixing a mis-wired toasted j7 on the interconnect board. I can't find any reference to the orange or red wires that go to the backbox flashers or relay in the manual. The closest is the gi wiring on 52 (66 in pdf). Am I missing something? Luckily someone posted this image earlier in the thread so I am all set. Where are these wires referenced?

Just finished putting in LEDs under the play field in all the inserts and the game looks so much brighter, now I need to buy more LEDs. Seems like Comet has the best quality and price on these. Any opinions or other suggestions?

Comet bro, you chose wisely

#1217 4 years ago

Comet hands down in my limited experience. I absolutely love the frosted sunlight for the backbox and GI, and the Matrix stuff is fun to do custom lighting.

I'm in for two as well but our dollar has taken another dive with this pandemix panic craziness so I am just settling on conversion for my last few orders and then pulling the trigger next. Completely elated that they have done SOF I can't wait for ours and to see how you tackle yours!

Hey folks. Finally able to get ahold of one of these machines and I couldn’t be happier!

I did have a question about the back glass, I need to order one and found the mirrored back glass for sale but the pictures i saw on the website doesn’t really show if it looks good or is worth it. Does anybody recommend it or have photos of what it looks like to show off the mirror? Thanks!

#1228 4 years ago

Its pretty sweet and if you need a replacement anyways id highly recommend!

#1229 4 years ago

FlipMyBalls awesome. Yeah I definitely need one. The photos they have of it on the website (Marco) I feel like makes it look bad lol. But I’ve never seen a bad mirrored back glass. Thanks for the reply!

#1230 4 years ago

IDK ask CaptainNeo he bought one of those back glasses & said it looked so bad to him that he sent it back

4 month old post. But for future reference you can find the wire harrnes color/layout for everything in the parts information section of the manual (for most of sys11 I think). It is kinda hard to read the first time you look at it but it gets easier the more you use it. If you use the second manual (the parts one) on ipdb it's on page 22. According to it there should be wires connected all the way through pins 10 to 5 (with there color and function explained). Everything else on that connector is empty.

Hey so I have been wondering if anybody else has noticed this or what your thoughts are. I ordered a hardtop and cpr plastics for my SOF and realized that the colors are very different(in my opinion). I know that colors will be different from different suppliers but these are kinda way different.

I have messaged both company’s and both company’s say there colors are right. My question is what are you alls thoughts on it? To different? Is there another option?

Both company’s products are great quality so I’m not arguing that or starting something about that. I’m really just wanting the machine to be a bit closer in color if possible. Thanks for any help.

Photo is hardtop, cpr plastic, og plastic for comparison.

could the lighter color be result of sun fade ?

No.
I also swapped with the CPR ones and I do confirm the HUE is off.

Can confirm. Unless everybody's machine has exactly the same amount of sun fade, CPR's colors are definitely off. Bought a plastic set to address a few broken pieces of mine, and having second thoughts about installing it due to this.

#1238 3 years ago

Thanks for the comments. I have been putting them on and I am not super happy about the colors. They are very different. The art work also looks like all of the detail is fatter. Kinda like if you had a scan of art work and selected the black but your threshold was too high so it seems less detailed. I have no other option at the time because my old plastics had several chips and breaks. The quality of the plastics and print seems great just off colors.

Came across a fullly populated speaker panel, sound board, interconnect board, aux power board, and a upper ramp assembly. Anyone never need any of these?

#1240 3 years ago

There is a guy over on KLOV selling a populated playfield.

Not mine, but thought I would post it here if anyone can use it.

Years ago when Freeplay40 was starting to make ramps, I had created the decals to put on the ramps. I was only asking for a donation for sending them out.

I have become busy and cannot create anymore, so here are the files to the decals with the correct fonts, (and the correct colors for the printing company I was using)

ENJOY!

I had a request for these .stl files, so I uploaded them to Thingiverse (just made an account, so there may be a 24 hour hold).

I won't generally add my discontinued mods there, but didn't mind putting this one up. Mods like the RZ ball stop I offer for free will be uploaded there as well.

Why do you have a Jokerz head on a SOF PF?

#1247 3 years ago
Quoted from PinballOrphanage:

I am making a conversion kit. It will be one cabinet that can play both games. Unfortunately, the hinge bolts aren't in the same place for both games, so I will have to drill the cabinet.

Both games are system 11b and have very similar wiring harnesses. They both use the the same mpu and have similar interconnect boards. Jokerz has a very different sound board and different display. It's been a bit of work gathering the parts I need to make it happen. The last step is going to be drilling the hinge bolts.

I was originally going to use the cyclone, but it's wiring harnesses was completely different and doesn't use the interconnect board.

I have enjoyed having a jokerz but I would like it even more if it would let me play sof.

Also, thanks to its_me_aj and vectordreams for the play field and parts.

Hi guys,
For a while I've had problem with the diverters; thry did not work at the beginning and after a few games they would come back to life.

Now they don't trigger at all anymore.
Any idea on what to check?
