Personally, I would prefer both ramps be translucent red.

Man, those look great. I still want a clear. Thanks for your dedication on this!

Yeah, you already have my money for a SOF clear set. Just let me know when to send... I bought a clear HS ramp and your attention to detail is awesome.

Regarding the light directly under the center ramp entrance:

You can simply install a 47 LED bulb with those little wire extenders on it, and point it toward the backbox, instead of toward the player. That would further help to illuminate the ramp as well.

One of the pictured bulbs for $0.99 from http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=3108

OK, I am going to be posting a ton of pictures to help those that need to remove rivets from their upper ramp.

We will start by removing the ramp.

Start by unplugging these 3 connectors on the underside, lower right of the play field.:

Now remove these four screws holding the metal wireforms on:

now remove these 3 screws:

And the two lower small ramp screws, and this last upper one...

You should now be able to fish the ramp out.. Clip these wire leaving a little of the wire color on them so you can easily resolder them to the proper lugs, when you receive your new ramp...

you are left with this:

Remove this gate. You do not need to send it.

YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE THIS SCREW AND NUT AND SEND IT WITH THE OTHER PARTS!

You will now need to remove the rivets. I used a dremel with a small cut wheel. There are 18 rivets to remove! You can also use a drill bit, but from my experience it takes a lot longer. Besides, every pinball owner should have a dremel. Go buy one if you don't.

Here's some pics to help:

BEFORE

IMG_3416.JPGIMG_3416.JPG

AFTER
IMG_3415.JPGIMG_3415.JPG

AFTER YOU CUT THE RIVETS: You should be able to use a small flat screw drive to pop the rivets out, carefully prying against a hard surface. Again, there are 18 total you will need to remove. A couple of them will be stubborn, but be patient and you can work them all out without breaking anything.

You will need to send all these parts, plus the ramp shield screw and bolt in POST #305 above:

Ok, I fixed it up. I have chosen clear upper and lower.

Interesting, they will even send you free samples if you give them your address.

Could possibly be because my SOF is a sample game.

That makes sense, mine was not a reimport, but it has a very low serial number. Back in the day, they typically shipped export orders before domestic. Thus, reimported pins typically have lower serial numbers. I bet they changed the length at some point in production.

Quoted from TecumsehPlissken:

Holy Lionman that looks bad ass!! I might change mind back to red

I think red looks great too but, I want all my clear ramps to match for High Speed, Space Shuttle, and SOF.

I got my ramps installed this evening. I'm posting pics of a couple spots where I had to trim the entrance to the upper ramp, and the hole closest to the front of the machine needed to be reamed out a bit. Overall, very easy to install. I did add a small spacer under the entrance of the lower ramp.
