    Hi

Working on a Bally Kiss and wanted some info on how I could make the cabinet service outlet only on when the game is on

So when the power switch / game is on the outlet works and when game is off the outlet goes off

Reason I’m doing this is I have a device that I want game controlled using that outlet in the machine

Or if there is a way I can use the 120VAC that is switchable how do I tap that line of power

    Thank you

I did this a few games ago and I taped off the 110V at the transformer. I used the female end of an extension cord, and soldered the wires to the transformer lugs. Secure with some screw-in wire anchors and should be good to go.

    Okay sounds good

    What lugs did you use

Here is my games Xformer Setup

    Any help is greatly appreciated

I can’t find pics but I did this to my old EBDLE by tapping the service outlet to the on/off switch. I sold that pin to user @steve-o, maybe he could snap a couple pics of what I did (following my father’s wiring guidance. Unfortunately my dad passed away earlier this year so I can’t ask him).

Sorry for your loss .. my dad is also no longer with us

Appreciate your help and we’ll get this done

It will take a bit of wiring, but replace the single pole switch for start up with a double pole, run the black wire from the convenience outlet to one side of the switch, then run a wire from the other side of the same pole back to the black wire of the convenience outlet.

For the other pole, keep the wires the same. Use a meter to make sure you get the wires on the correct side of the switch poles - you don't want to turn on one thing while turning off the other.

    Sorry for your loss.

Just run the hot wire to the switch first instead of to the service outlet first.

Interesting, I tapped it from the switch itself not the transformer. Actually like that mod better!

(Just saw this topic) 31 days late…

play_pinball here’s how you dad achieved the power mod. (Very tidy execution- I never looked that closely at it until today)
I’m very sorry Chris for the loss of your dad.

HardTop is holding up superbly, game is working well and we’re still lovin’ our EBDLE.
