Hi I have a Williams Indiana Jones and there is a switch on the mini-playfield that is stuck closed. It is #67 the Mini Mid Bot Left switch. And the switch just below it #68 Mini Bottom Left is always open and not working. Everything else in the game works properly but I'm a bit stumped here looking for some help. I touched up some cold solder joints on the 10 switch OPTO PCB Assembly under the playfield and found a broken resistor which I replaced but I'm still getting a switch error. If you look at the image on the DMD the switch test shows the letter (A) in brackets. ...I'm not sure what that is supposed to indicate. See the image attached. I'm still plugging away.....All 3 LM339 chips on that board test as good. Any help is greatly appreciated .

Quoted from pinmike:

Most likely the opto transmitter(one with bulb) is out or needs to be cleaned.Did you Test that opto in switch test to see if it registers on the screen?use a business card put it between that opto and receiver. Also look for a loose wire on that opto or might need adjusting or reflow of some fresh solder.

I think it's Switch #47....Subway Lock because in the Switch test when I press the switch #66 the Mid Upper Left it flashes #47 Subway Lock before displaying Switch 66. So that sort of complete the square in the switch matrix that everyone always talks about 46,47,66 & 67. So is it a diode on one of those switches or is it the Opto on the Subway Lockup?

well I changed the diode on 66 & 67 and the problem still exists and #46 the Top Post diode tests good. So could the Opto be bad? When I insert a card into the one side the switch does close. The bulb portion seems to be inserted into a rubber insert. I've never done much work with Optos....certainly frustrating.....I did replace the U2 LM339 on the 10 opto board under the playfield incase that chip was bad but it wasn't. Any help for someone who has an Indiana Jones is appreciated.

Thanks
