Switch matrix SOL scoop on AFM?

Okay, so here is my situation...while playing AFM I will sometimes activate the SOL opto while not hitting the scoop. I've cleaned the opto but that didn't solve my situation and, honestly, the opto ALWAYS works when I do hit the scoop so I think the opto itself is fine. So, I started thinking this could be a switch matrix issue. Funny thing is I'm looking at the manual and I can't find the SOL switch in the matrix. Maybe I'm just missing it somewhere but I was hoping to start to diagnose the issue tonight by checking the other switches along the same matrix and try to figure out what exactly is triggering the phantom SOL hits.

Thanks for the help.

I had exactly the same issue. I temporarily fixed it when I reflowed solder on both opto boards for that switch, then it started happening again, so ultimately I just replaced those two opto boards. It is working fine ever since.

Great to know. Sounds like a trip to pinballlife.com is in my near future.

In the meantime, if anyone else has some suggestions, I'm all ears.

The SOL opto switch is labeled as "right popper" in the switch matrix.

The left VUK opto switch is labeled as "left popper".

Are these the optos?

You can actually get the boards by themselves (without the plastic mounts) for a few bucks cheaper:

Fantastic. Thanks!

Looks like tonight I'm going to do some switch edge tests on correlating switch edges on the matrix and if everything seems good on that I'll order me some optos. Thanks for the help.

Yes, this is exactly what I purchased. Easy install.

Switch edge tests seem to be normal on the associated matrix switches. Will order opto tomorrow. Will keep an update when I know more. Thanks!

Well, I changed the opto and issue still persists. Could this be a board issue? Everything else seems perfect.

If not a board, what would be the best way to troubleshoot this?
