Switch activation (NOT an adjustment issue)

This question pertains to Pinbot but I imagine may be applicable to other games as well.
When the ball touches the right inlane switch, it is supposed to activate the kick out hole shot at the upper left side of the play field. This is only being triggered intermittently, seemingly randomly.

I know that the switch is making good contact as any time I roll the ball over it, its accompanying sound cue works (and when testing in "switch edges" it works). That kick out target is supposed to activate any time the ball goes through the right inlane. I've adjusted the switch to bring the leaves closer together and also cleaned the contacts. I recently had the table out on a rotisserie to rebuild the pop bumpers and flippers. Also, I just had Coin-Op Cauldron service the CPU board. Not sure how either of these would account for the errant behavior. Ideas?

I don't think his is a switch issue. Sounds more like a game feature.

Maybe it's a difficulty setting?

I don't *think* so...I set my games to be tough, but having the switch not register every time isn't an option in settings.

Perhaps I'm confused, but it sounds like the switch IS registering.
The game simply isn't doing what you expect it to do as you understand the rules.

Going through the inlane should not trigger the upper left hole to fire. Sounds like a short/diode issue. I don't have my manual near me, are those on the same column or row in the matrix?

Never mind I just reread the op, I thought you meant it was firing the kicker, rather than advancing the award for the hole.

Exactly. It should start the timer on the kick out shot (directly to the left of the visor), each time the balls goes through the inlane. Sometimes it does, but not always. Really weird.
