The black rod arm if it was hollow and clear Could house EL wire for some effect.
Cool mod .
Iam following.
Quoted from swinks:- as much as I would love to get the price down it just ain't gonna happen, there are 150 parts in this, servo's and driving pcbs are over $100 a set (= just 4 parts of the 150 in total) and that is when buying 20 at a time.
- if it doesn't sell it doesn't sell and those that get it will then get a rare mod and I will then be moving on
Swinks, are you limiting this production ?
One or two runs?
25 units ?
50 -100?
May add to the appeal.
Quoted from marioparty34:Here you go!
So excited about your mod!

Quoted from evileye:Amazing that this became a reality. Very awesome! Has the foot pedal design changed at all, or is it the same blue/yellow from the 3rd pic posted at the beginning of this thread? Also, so I’m clear, the foot pedal cable is no longer going through the coin door with a custom plate, right? Will there be some sort of magnets attached to the cable so that we can affix to the leg?
I like the coindoor cable access I don’t want to drill my cabinet .
Besides it will look like a proton cable attachment point .
Give me the plate!
Quoted from evileye:Very helpful, thank you for the detailed explanation!
Will you be able to share pics of the production unit for BOTH options? More so interested in what the outside cabinet appearance will look like with the foot pedal and cable. If you are not drilling your cabinet I understand but maybe a mock-up would work here.
Also for people with powder coated coin doors, what is our option with the plate? I assume that’s metal and can be powder coated but the front cover plate I assume is plastic, right? It can be removed?
Even with powder-coat door black pate will look cool. With a mod like this why would you want it to blend in? Let it stand out and be proud!
Quoted from pinmister:Hey Jady was wondering if I did not want the power plate on the outside, could one be made for inside cabinet? I actually was wondering why a power button is needed? I would probably prefer to just plug and play and keep it on when the game is on(lower cost?). If I did not want it being used I could unplug foot petal or dis-connect mod from inside the cabinet? Also I have no problem drilling the bottom of my cabinet for hole but why not have an extension run through back hole ports already there for foot pedal? I personally do not like the look of the wire coming out of coin door. What I would like is nothing on coin door-wires fed through rear, yellow footswitch, and a pink proton on right and blue proton on left. My wife has offered to buy me this mod as a present-she is a keeper
Sounds like a custom commissioned order.
Quoted from delt31:So was this exactly what stern was planning on implementing but they cut due to cost? This batting of the ball from going down the outlanes?
Read through thread Jady explained it.
So here is pics of wire exiting coin door.
So as not rub art work I wrapped around out side of leg. No rub!
I am going to remove brick wire ( power supply) an tie in to game power switch.
I just ordered some quick connect stacons.
Will do that when they arrive .
This will cut brick power off when game is turned off.
Quoted from swinks:Update - 20-2-22
- a quick dodgy coat of black on the home print simulation just to get an idea - the quality on the final product will be like the other parts
- the part fits under the glass just on a pro and the magnet in the part and under the apron holds the part on place - and I extended 2 parts to drop down into the indicator slot to better hold the gauge
- the 4 slots will probably be a little shorter - something like 25mm instead of 30 mm
- the gauge part will probably be 2 halves to hold the rgb pcb.
Do you guys like the look of it as a indicator on how you are progressing on charging your protons?

Jady,
Why so big ?
The size of the purple area on shooter would be perfect
Quoted from swinks:My first draft incorporated a magnet for hold down, resin gauges, blinders to light does not escape from one section to the next and a PCB.
That said and parts installed I can see now once the proto-type is in place I can better visualise ways to reduce the size more - not quite to the purple graphic but smaller. I need the current width to keep the visual bars for charging but shorten the top and botton.
It's not locked and final - hence showing concepts and then see what I can do.
Jady
Diodes can make a bar!
Four rows of diodes easy peasy !
Four rows of five diodes they are inexpensive. Require roundhole easy mounting would Look visually impressive too!
As for mounting .
Use oval hole to mount two through bolt toggle style no damage to apron.wires go through oval!
Quoted from stumblor:Addressable RGB leds on a small circuit board is fine with me Jady, not expensive to produce, and gives you the flexibility of more interesting lighting patterns and effects. I agree with the above sentiments though about keeping the size down a bit - it would be good to still be able to see some of that yellow and black warning decal.

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Quoted from swinks:but still a vision that I have,
all these little things grow in cost and I am trying to keep the integration kit at a reasonable cost.
People don’t mind payIng for quality! Don’t hold back.
Quoted from swinks:have 3 kits remaining of the Proton Gun Mod if anyone is interested.
Yo Jady,
No shoes “down under “that Pinball ?
