Here is the second showing a test rig used to house the LHS and RHS servos as well as the servo driver boards in their simulated installation position and then I preset the servo driver boards so the servo horns are set at the correct angle.

The rig still needs an angle guide added but this video gives you the idea of what I will do requiring you to do very little except install and fine tune adjust as shown in the video - no programming needed - just a screwdriver.

Please excuse my voice....

great to hear mate, was worried no one was reading or caring and was thinking of stopping them.

weather is going to crap tomorrow so painting day today to the guns and cover plates (batch of 10) and then tomorrow final assembly starts, plus still need to make the gun lighting power leads for the batch.

ohhhh,

as stated in Post 100 The mod comes with a power brick that accepts 100 / 240 ac but only with the the Australia wall lead from the brick to the wall. So customers outside of Australia will need to see what they have stashed, or purchase one off ebay or you local electronics shop - they will be about $8-10. It looks like this.

My apologies to anyone that missed this note. But it would cost more for me to get it from overseas and send to you and also adds more weight and postage.

Interesting, I don’t mind the front, but looking at it though the base, looks so clean with that part I don’t mind that either. I might roll that way!

swinks has a strict no flip-flop rule! Lol just kiddin. It's a tough call. It's nice to have both options. If you are a purist, you will not drill into your cabinet I guess

The Manual rev 2 is close to being finished.

Here is a quick schematic of terminal strip where everything will be fastened here EXCEPT for the Footswitch for the through the cabinet v2b customers - you guys will need to secure 3 wires.

The Terminal strip just needs a screw driver to secure wires.

BIG NOTE: There is no soldering required from your end and there is no dodgy alligator clips therefore no risk of shorting out.

***** I just renewed image as had to change wire colour from White to Black for wire going to the Power to Servo Boards *****

Another schematic of the servo boards that link to the terminal strip schematic.

Will be chatting to the first 10 mod owners in the next 2 days for payment and then once payments come in I can purchase gear for the next 10, then will be reaching out to the next 10 mod owners to confirm there final choice and check they are still in. Had 2 drops outs so the list has shuffled a little.

which exact chord needs to be ordered? Anything else ?

#235 2 years ago

This would plug into the outlet inside the cabinet right? Would a 1ft cord work? Thinking shorter is better if it’s all inside right?

Quoted from wcbrandes:

which exact chord needs to be ordered? Anything else ?

- just a power cord to suit your country wall socket with the socket like what is in the back of the cabinet like shown on the walmart link.
- just make sure it has a earth prong and the length is really up to you.
- as for installing inside your game - us Aussies do not have a socket available so if you do and it can handle 1-2 amp load then you could plug into that. Also if your socket inside the game is in the backbox maybe a 3ft would be safer as lead from power brick is about 1m (3ft).If the socket is near the coin door then 1ft will be fine

As for anything else needed - I provide the following as part of your mod kit:
- 1 x full kit including all wiring, power supply, foot pedal, coin door assembly, lhs and rhs proton mechs and guns, through cabinet bushes if you are getting the 2vb kit.
- 5 x screws to fasten the mechs to your playfield
- 3 x different sized metric allen keys allowing you to adjust all the various bolts in the mod.
- 2 x cable anchor squares for the leg
- about 10 x cable ties (still have to do the final count up)

I will not be supplying the fasteners for the 2 bushes as not sure what people will be securing with - screws, double sided tape, hot guy, through bolts and nuts ??? not sure what people want to do but everything else will be supplied except for the power lead from wall to the power brick due to different countries using different leads.

Update - 8-11-21

- man there is alot of wiring and soldering for me (not you) - under estimated that part so slight delay.
- made all the pivot mech shafts and complete mech assemblies
- made a few jigs to speed up the pivot shaft making and proton stream making
- was not happy with the wire for the proton leds - was too thick so went shopping for smaller gauge and cut, soldered etc.
- hope to finish a few kits tomorrow but have to do some psycho analysis / personality tests for a job and answer some scenarios by tomorrow afternoon.
- Then Wednesday finish the remainder of kits and work out the right boxes and then start packing.

The following pinsiders can expect payment requests for their mods by Wednesday afternoon / night Aus time all going well:
- ToucanF16
- Vegasbills
- TicTacSeth
- brett
- ZMeny
- marioparty34

Then I will starting the next 10 units (Batch 2) for mainly Pinsiders and a mate in Aus once some payments come in to cover purchasing the expensive parts, but will start wiring on Thursday 11th Nov:
- marioparty34
- AtTheArcade
- hawkmoon
- freddy
- Mayboyz
- Acejedi
- RazorV23
- eyeamred2u

Then there is another 14 units after Batch 2 in which you will know who you are if you have not been mentioned yet.

Sorry going as quick as I can but still want to maintain the highest quality and enjoy life with family as well

I just had a thought for anyone with board experience. We’ve been talking about integration into the game to “earn” the ability to use this. But wondering if there’s another way to do this. For example, right now, this will always be active. But what if when you use it, you have to wait some period of time for it to charge again (like 30s or something). That way it’s not tied to game integration, but you would use it more selectively, and may save on the cost of developing something for game integration?

Just a thought, throwing it out there. I’m mega excited for this though

I tried a couple of relays that would only allow the protons to work for say 30 seconds and then switch off for a set period 30-60seconds but not being an electronic whizz struggled as did weird things. The servo boards operate by get constant power in and the foot switch tells the boards to give power to the servos. I could get the relays to work with say with a strip of lights for off and on periods but not how I hoped with the servos.

thanks for the understanding guys - a busy day today.

Also been thinking about the guys on the list and people hoping to get this before Christmas - not just my time but part supply.

- The mod at this stage will be capped at 54 + mine - mods made at this point.
- I will be capping orders for before Christmas at 24 which covers everyone on the list up to today and I will try my hardest to get all yours done and sent before then subject to my time but mainly parts supply so please don't hold me to this for the guys at the back end but will try super hard. The pedals, professional printed parts and servos and motors are my big ticket parts so I need to order in my runs of build batches - just can't afford to buy big bulk of these.
- since there is 24 to build before Christmas I am now going to split the 24 into 2 batches of 12 to build (not 10 units)

so the next batch of Pinside guys is now
- marioparty34
- AtTheArcade
- hawkmoon
- freddy
- Mayboyz
- Acejedi
- RazorV23
- eyeamred2u
- Aflacjack
- MANTO1975

Can you guys in this batch please later this week send me your:
- full name
- address
- phone number
- email address
- MOD - Pedal colour preference - Orange OR Grey
- MOD - 2va (through door) OR 2vb (through cabinet) as I will be ordering parts in a few days

Thanks guys, gotta go, big day

Update - 11-11-21

- well that took more time than I thought
- all parts for the first 10 kits completed
- 2 kits tested, 1 kit paid & sent and 1 request for payment sent & waiting on payment
- 8 more kits to be tested today, with payment requests to be sent out today - then pack once paid and send out
- manual has been updated and is below
- drawings will be done soon - more of a resource for maintenance down the track
- once payments come through I can then order the major parts for the next batch (professionally 3d printed parts and servos and servo boards).

This is a 2va kit with power and foot pedal cabling connected to the coin door plate.

Lastly I have only got response from one person for the next batch - Batch 2.

I will send out messages soon to those people, but if I do not get responses soon I can't order parts soon and the flow on is it will affect everyone's delivery date especially since we are coming up to Christmas.

Come on, please get the information in. Takes a few minutes. I did my part.
