Recently i stumbled upon some stuff which i thought would look neat on my Gottlieb Surf 'N Safari. I couldn't find any existing mods, or pictures of people who got creative with their Surf and Safari. So i decided to create my own mods, and start from scratch.

The creative part lies within the extra plants i've installed next to the existing palm trees that were allready there. You can buy these things individually in a store that has aquarium supplies. And they are super easy to install and remove. (You can see the fixture in one of the pictures) I also found a fitting spider house that served perfectly as a tunnel for one of the slides in the game. Goes really well with the tropical swimming pool theme.

I really wanted this machine to scream: summertime!!

Here's the result:

Thanks. I'm trying to figure out now how i can make Rodney's arm move. In conjunction with the pop bumper he's sitting on i should be able to create something that engages his rubber arms to move.

Looks all fine and good...now just replace that one nasty screw next to your thumb with a shiny new one

Ow, that's the good thing, the screws arent visible when the four parts of the plastic plant collapse upwards.

Rodney's arms are moving up and down now together with the lower pop bumper. Pretty cool, but cheap ass mod!

How did you get Rodney's arms to move? That's a nice effect, I'd rather not butcher my Rodney to figure it out!

This is so cool. I'd love to do the mod on my Surf 'n Safari to make Rodney's arms move. Do you mind sharing instructions for how you did that?

Thanks!

Not a huge fan of mods, but that looks pretty good. Well done.
