Yes, I had this problem with mine, too. I was able to fix it by bending the rollover wire almost straight and then making a it much smaller and closer to the pin that fires out. The reason it misses so much of the time is that the when the ball goes down the outlane slowly (which is most of the time) it causes the solenoid to fire too soon. It used to miss about half the time, or maybe even slightly more. Since I fixed it about 4 months ago, it has only missed twice that I can remember. If the ball comes screaming down the outlane it won't have enough time to fire, but this rarely happens. It's really not a problem at all anymore.

Quoted from Jgaltr56:

Question: Seems like it's way too easy to get an extra ball and multi ball. I have the game difficulty set to hard currently. Any suggestions on settings to make it challenging yet still fun?

I find that even with the extra ball and multiball acheived easily, the game is still really hard. There are several difficult timed modes and tight, steep ramps. Just getting to forever mode is tough and completing it is even harder. I wouldn't worry about the free balls, you'll need them.

When working on my Batman Forever, I noticed that the receiver board of the VUK opto by the ball trough wasn't plugged in. I plugged it in and it started firing repeatedly. I checked the opto on the switch test and noticed it wasn't working (it showed blocked when it wasn't). I tested the receiver board with a flashlight and it seemed to be registering fine. The emitter board LED was shining bright red but didn't seem to be getting picked up by the receiver board. Not sure what the issue is with the emitter as it appears to be lit up. Any ideas on how to fix the opto? What does the VUK opto do anyway? It must have been unplugged since I got the machine, so not sure what it does. Does it just look for ball jams?
