Looking for some advice from the Bubble hockey pros...I was thinking about getting my kids a Super Chexx Pro for xmas (USA vs. Russia)....any issues with the new builds? Anything I should be aware of? with or without the coin mech?

    Appreciate the feedback

    #228 5 years ago
    Quoted from meSz:

One of the pros to getting a machine with the coin mechs is when you go to sell it you have a broader buyer base. The last Chexx I sold I had a local vendor buy it from me as he needed one for a location ASAP. So he bought the my game for my asking price. If it didn't have the coin mechs then my buyers would've been limited to home buyers only. ....... just a thought!

    Thats a great point.....thanks

    Quoted from meSz:

Also, good idea on USA/CCCP as it's neutral. Neutral in the sense that (again) if you sell it you're not trying to sell a game with specific teams that only a small audience wants. These are just things to think about as some day, more than likely, you will sell the game!

yea right now I'm deciding between USA vs Russia or USA vs Canada.....the good news is they are both is stock so I can get before xmas

    Quoted from Raegor:

Go with Canada, who wants to play as Russia?

True...although most Americans remember watching the miracle on ice....that being said my kids have no clue

    Does Ice ever run promotions/sales?

    #392 4 years ago

I'm gonna order a game this week....just not sure if I should order Miracle on Ice or USA vs Canada...I prefer the Miracle version, but not sure kids/friends would ever want to be the Russians....maybe USA vs Canada is better? tough decision

    Quoted from roar:

Those are some pretty determined kids if they refuse to play a game based on a socialist state that is no longer in existence. I'd like to have a conversation with such kids as I'd have to guess they are likely more qualified to run your country than the man currently in charge to have such strong convictions... with all that said I think you're over thinking things a tad.

I never said they would refuse anything...what I said was they would prefer to play the USA, which makes sense since they won the game (kids are band wagoners)...kids could give a rats ass about politics...

    Quoted from roar:

You said you weren't sure the kids would ever want to be the Russians... that kind of sounds like they might refuse to be the Russians to me, I was really just joking around and hoping my ridiculous statement would ease you into the thought that you may be overthinking things... if you want the Miracle on Ice version, go for it! The kids (And adults) are gonna love it regardless of the version you get is what I think.

    good advice !

    Quoted from pursea2011:

Thanks so much! I'm 100% going to buy one (probably today or tomorrow) but I've been going back and forth on the Miracle, the NHL (Wings fan) or the Standard version (save some cash, maybe customize later). Another question, if I get the Coin-Op version, how easy is it to access the programming options? Also, LEDs, yay or nay and do they just turn on when playing a game?

I went through the same mental exercise and ended up with the Miracle on Ice version. You really can't go wrong either way. In regards to Home Use or Commercial I went with the commercial version for a couple reasons. The first is I like the look of the coin door (I know crazy), and second I figured it would be better for resale value. The only downside to the commercial is you have to open the coin door to power up the game and to access the menu options, volume control, etc....in my setting its actually better so the kids don't screw with it....I bought the LED's and have no regrets (their actually well done)

    Quoted from pursea2011:

Update: Still doing mental gymnastics about which one to buy (NHL or Miracle). Even watched the movie Miracle and the Russian 5 documentary to see if that would help with my decision process lol. Will be doing Red base, Split base, no coin op, yes to LEDs, no to cup holders.

Just my opinion, but having the cup holders is a no brainer.....especially since their so cheap
