Of the three plates I believe Ken is referring to two (one on either side) enable the pf to rest in the slot brackets-no lock implications. It is the middle bracket under the pf which takes the knob from the lockdown receiver (end of handle). Not sure whether from underneath you can access the middle bracket retaining screws. But this would require the glass to be broken-not for me that option. You need to be patient - let the WD40 or other penetrating fluid work through the mechanism across & under the lockdown bar. Then use the force including shock hits) extension pipe against the vicegrips.
