Quoted from taylor34:Super Chexx is proof positive that new pinball inflation is out of control. They sell for roughly what they did 10 years ago, basically in the same market as pinball. If the cost to make things was really skyrocketing, then Chexx wouldn't be at the same price.
Your analysis skips over the important parts of..
- what is the volume now vs previously?
- is demand growing or flat/sliding?
The reason pin prices are blowing up is because of the influx of new money and buyers = surging demand and new product differentiators.
Chexx is basically the same product with different skins.. no innovations justifying new price points vs existing product (what happened to pinball through most of its early life...)
