All, I recently purchased my first pinball machine, and went with a #game-of-thrones-le (Spike System), but after about 500 plays I noticed that one of the LEDs is not always showing the right color. Upon investigation, the Red is only at about half strength. It still turns on when expected, just dim and the Green and Blue are full strength. It is a single LED Display Board PCB (https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/520-5333-00). Has anyone had this and what is my step to troubleshooting?
Is there any benefit to trying to unsolder and resolder this connection? How do I know if my molex connector or something else is bad? How do I test voltage across these wires? I have searched the internet and Pinside and cannot seem to find any answers or other posts to this. I want to test it with my multimeter, but want to ensure I have the right setting and touch the right poles so that I don't accidentally short something or cause more damage from a strictly cosmetic issue.
Thanks!
