No, it’s a full range speaker.
I’m sure that speaker system will make some difference, but remember the speakers are being driven by a 30 year old board, with probably about 4w of output.
You’d be better to keep the standard speakers, and get one of those external powered subs and put it under the machine. I think Polk is the one they go for.
You’ll see them referenced on this site. I think you can get them for under $100 when they’re on sale.
