I hate to reply to an older thread but my question is pretty to this.
I'm replacing a couple of emitters on a trough board for my Demolition Man. Both the emitter and receiver have one leg that's slightly longer than the other. I assume this means there's a backwards and a rightwards way to installing them. Is there a general rule or way to know which hole the long leg goes in and which the short leg goes into?
I haven't pulled the board yet but I'm sure there isn't a long leg here label so I'm asking in advance. I figured I'd try my first board repair here since the boards are expensive and I have the factory optos in-hand. I've replaced a couple of other burnt opto transmitters with great success so these are probably burnt as well. I will double-check before taking it apart.
The burnt optos don't effect play but I want to go into the Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo Free Play. (dot) free and see if she can make it out Free Play. (dot) free. This is one of the last items on my hit list for this gal.
Edit: Added additional detail.
