Found this in the cabinet of a newly aquired Comet. It is wired to a switch which activates when the coin door is opened/closed. This machine used to be on route. Some sort of burgler alarm perhaps?

I had something similar in an Aladdins Castle along with a nice mouse hotel.

I figured it was an alarm to let an OP know if someone opened the game door. Ran on a battery.

Ive mostly found spareparts, dead coils + scorecards in mine, although i did find drilled german and danish 80's coins in my Grand Lizard used as spacers on the droptarget mechanism.

Only odd thing i can recall was 5 cigarettes hidden in the sidepouch in my Jungle Lord.

That looks like a smoke detector to me, right? Guess if its an infrared version, you could put an object in it to break the internal light beam and then any time you powered it up, it would sound the alarm. So its powered and activated by opening the door. Pretty ingenious idea and only costs about $20!

Found something strange. I've been having sound issues on my newly acquired Sorcerer. So I pulled the boards and found a cold solder joint but also when I flipped the board I discovered this.

Three Bally - 17 MPUs, two SDBs, and two lamp driver boards. The machine had Altek boards installed at MPU and SDB, so a pretty good deal for $250. Lamp driver boards are repaired now, one SDB repaired, and the others in the queue for repairs. (Acid damage and bad sockets on MPUs. ) Machine cleaned up and works well.

John has too many games to check each one when a pet goes missing. Poor possum.

I do remember this one.
Still one of the best of all time in the history of "don't let this happen to your game" points.
"Mummified Opossum"
