Resets occurring in WPC/S games are certainly nothing new and it makes sense it would do it when under the heaviest load i.e. both cannons are running, it's launching balls like crazy, you're hitting flippers like mad etc. Best to start here: http://techniek.flipperwinkel.nl/wpc/index2.htm#reset

I'm not familiar with this brand but it appears to be similar to the Kahr one in that it most likely uses the 12VDC supply to boost the 5VDC when needed. The problem is that the 12V supply in STTNG is pretty taxed already especially when the cannons are running so it may just move the problem from one place to another. However many people have had success, at least temporarily, using these boards over the years so if you can't fix the underlying problem yourself and don't want to send your board off for repair this may be your best choice.
